Hello!
My name is Brent McElroy Villeneuve, I am a third-year student in the Tourism Management Program at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops British Columbia. I am an open-minded and forward-thinking person who enjoys interacting with others and learning new things about the places I have been and the places I hope to go.
After graduating from high school in 2018, my mother and I joined my sister in Kamloops. I knew right away that I was going to attend Thompson Rivers University and as soon I found the Tourism Management program, I knew that was what I wanted to study. Having come from a place full of potential within the tourism industry coupled with my want to return home, this was a perfect opportunity to work with people as well as help my village develop its tourism market by bringing operators to the village, encourage locals to develop their own experiences, to share the culture with visitors and to create memorable experiences while being environmentally and financially aware. I have a specific focus on event and festival management and along with my initial goal, I hope to encourage more entertainers, organizations, and festivals to come to town to present for and to the village. To generally liven up the village outside of Friday night bingo.
The purpose of this e-portfolio is to provide a brief introduction and rundown of who I am and what I am like. It will also provide a glimpse at my knowledge, skills, strengths, and interests through some of the projects I was apart of and accomplished in my third year at Thompson Rivers University.
